Do you feel like Taylor Swift in this gif when it comes to SEO?
If you said yes, I don’t blame you. SEO can be overwhelming when you don’t know where to start first. I could go on for days about SEO, but here are my favorite tools I use to optimize my site:
Download Yoast: This is a plugin that you can use on your WordPress site that helps make your site search engine-friendly.
Keywords: If you want your blog to have a better chance of picking up your article in a search engine, then you will want to go to either Google Keywords Planner or Ubersuggest and find keywords you can add to your title and blog post. The Yoast plugin will tell you how many times you use the keywords, synonyms or other phrases there are in the text.
Add a meta data description: Make sure to add a description in the Yoast plugin because Search engines will look for keywords that you put in here and this will drive more traffic to your website.
Internal and external links: In other words, add links to other pages within your own site and add external links from other websites into your post as well.
Permalink and slug: This is the URL for your website or blog post. You can choose a keyword to add to the slug part of the URL which will help optimize your website so that Google can find you.
Google Search Console: Create an account with Google Search Console. This helps you with providing tools and insights that can help improve your visibility.
